Everyone is different

I have had a lot of friends have babies in the last year and one thing I have learned is that everyone is different and that's ok. What I don't like is that when I tell ppl that I won't be having a bassinet in our room (it's small) they say "good luck with that." Ya know, it's my baby and how hard is it to walk in the room next door, grab my baby and feed it? Not hard. My house is small and my bedroom is small and that baby is sleeping in it's room day one, I hope.

I'm going to admit -- I'm not one of those "natural mothers." I want an epidural. I thought the movie "The Business of Being Born" was pure propaganda. I want a doctor, not a midwife and I want to have my baby in a hospital. My birth plan is short and I don't need a doula. I am scared to breast feed but heck, I'm going to do it anyway. I dare you to judge me. I dare you! Let me add that I won't judge you for you opinions either because everyone is different. You do what you have to do. I won't judge you for going natural or having a midwife either. That's your decision.

With that being said, I'm laying down the ground rules when Lil Ben is here -- we're doing it our way -- not yours.

I am going to sit here and judge you, while I eat a cupcake. ;)

No really, I just have one thing to say: GOOD FOR YOU! By not being a wishy-washy, pushover adult you are on your way to being an AWESOME mom. Stick to your guns and enjoy the ride.

I still think after wearing a tread to the bassinet you'll change your mind about the separate room, though. :P

I would never judge you oh chicken. You're doing it the way you want to. Yay for sparky!

wait, who's timothy? where's timothy?

I removed Timothy. He was pointing out misspellings because I "dared" him. If I was getting paid to blog I think I'd care about my stuff but I don't therefore I won't go over my work with a fine tooth comb.

I'm with you on the separate room thing. When my kids were babies, every single sound woke me. I did end up with the bassinet in my room with Jake (the youngest), but he ended up in my bed most nights, because I'd fall asleep nursing him. I suppose I could have gotten up and taken him back to his room every time, but I was way too lazy. As soon as he got to the point where he was only waking once or twice, he was down the hall again.

Every Mom is different! And every baby is different. Just follow your instincts and do what works for you both. It is hard to sleep with the baby right by your bed, at least it was for me. My baby was a loud breather/sleeper!

Having baby in our room was one big drag. She moved into her own room at two weeks and we slept better and so did she.
Yay for setting your boundaries. It's amazing what people think they can say. Geez.

Everyone has an opinion on how you should raise your kids, huh?

Well, my only advise is to take it one day at a time and never say never when they are babies.

I figured that after 2 kids, I knew what worked. HAH! Each kid is their own person with their own needs. It is all part of the journey and them being a baby is just a blip in time.
