Size of a fig! Yeah!

Today marks week 11 for Lil Berger. In 6 days, we have our first appointment with our OB where we will hear Lil Bergers heartbeat! The morning sickness has subsided. I just pee alot and am tired all the time.

Thanksgiving was well, weird. We had a wonderful celebration at our friend's house. It's what happened after that basically ruined our Thanksgiving. That's all I will say, I'm trying to keep this blog positive. I just wish we lived closer to my family and my husband's in Arizona. That's all I'm saying. Today I'm emotionally drained and depressed.

This week's activity is the reach out to other moms. "Women who've already made the transition to motherhood can offer good advice, a comforting shoulder, and the camaraderie of shared experiences. If you don't know where to start the conversation, ask your mom or a friend to tell you about her best and worst pregnancy memories."

So share your stories moms! I wanna hear them.

Hmmm... I'm thinking you probabaly don't want to hear about my 52 hour labor. Or the nasty heartburn I had. There's an old wives' tale that the more heartburn you have, the hairier your baby is. Turned out true for me because that kid had a full head of hair right out of the birth canal.

Really, being a mom is a lot of fun, a lot of heartache, a big headache, and there's nothing in the world I would trade for it.

Best pregnancy memory? I dunno. I do fondly remember the doctor who filled in when my OB went on vacation - sub-doc told me that I was definitely having a boy because I was carrying so high. This after I'd had two very clear ultrasounds showing a girl. (Baby was indeed a girl.)

Worst? Finding out it was too late to get an epidural when I finally asked for one. Really, I made it through that 23 hour labor without meds and THERE IS NO GOLD STAR. No special rewards for toughing it out. With my second, I started asking for the anesthesiologist the minute I got to the hospital. Life is much happier with an epidural.

I love being a mom, and would be happy to give advice any time you have a question. I promise to not be offended if you blow off my expertise. You can email me directly by putting missy@ in front of the domain name where my blog is located (hope that's not too enigmatic).

Hey there! Welcome to the joys and heartaches of Motherhood. It starts when they are a little pea sized thing in your womb. You worry and fret and it doesn't stop.

I have three kids aged almost 14, almost 2 and almost 1. I did have two miscarriages before #2 decided to stick it out. It was a crazy ride. Then #3 just snuck in and I didn't even know I was knocked up until I was 17 weeks along! I have some great stories of pregnancy and childbirth. All three were different.

Feel free to email me anytime! djohnlyn@bendbroadband.com

Both of mine were induced, and the birth stories are pretty much exactly the same. But the best thing for me is I really don't remember the pain (though there was a lot of it) but I do remember the experience. There's nothing like that feeling you get when you finally get to "meet" that new person that's been growing inside you!

Hmmm...the best thing about pregnancy was the baby kicking. The worst is several years later when they all fight. Is it too late to send a couple of kids back?

The thing I couldn't get enough of with my last was Otter Pops. I'd go through a box of a hundred in just a couple of days.

As for advice, I'm sure you've seen all those lists of must-have things for the baby. Most of the stuff on those lists is just a waste of money. Instead of following them, ask people what worked for them and make your own list.

My best pregnancy memory, after getting through the early months of feeling sick, was just being pregnant and feeling the baby move around and kick me! The worst memory is all of the stress caused by all of the information out there that makes us too aware sometimes and just causes needless worry! Don't get me wrong, it is good to have, but there is enough to worry about without all the extra stress of how many educational DVDs I need for my newborn! LOL

I've known you a LONG time and I know you will be a wonderful mommy! Always know I'm here for you for ANYTHING you need! I know the miles seperate us quite a bit, but I'm still here for ya babe! Love ya!
